Speak of the Locals is a web site hosting free classified ads for culture and media people of Canada. The site was launched in July 2020 by Sur Place Media, a Montreal non-profit organization that offers workshops and media services. If you have any questions or comments, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The purpose of this site is to support Canadian content creators, independent freelancers, cultural stakeholders, and media consumers in the following activities: creating local media content, reporting on local stories, disseminating job and gig opportunities, announcing local initiatives, training and professional development, and more. Canadian independent media outlets, professionals, and freelancers are adversely affected by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. This site provides a moderated space for sharing and discovering new opportunities.
